Phil Procter reimagines his Rolled Lounger in Unilin Master Oak
Anyone who has walked through the atrium of the Unilin Panels HQ in Wielsbeke over the past few weeks will have noticed them: two striking lounge chairs crafted in Unilin Master Oak.
They are the result of a first collaboration with a renowned designer, namely Phil Procter, who is based in Rotterdam. For this project, Procter reimagined his iconic Rolled Lounger – originally designed in stainless steel – in Master Oak.
Known for his sculptural furniture made from sheet materials, Procter explores how flat surfaces can be transformed into objects with unexpected forms. The Rolled Lounger, paired with our Master Oak, is a perfect example of that approach.
The design brings warmth to any interior through the distinctive character of Master Oak. Procter developed two versions: one in Master Oak natural copper and one in Master Oak green. Each offers a unique aesthetic – from the rich, deep copper tone to the more unexpected, contemporary feel of the green variant, which subtly references smoked oak.
Unilin Master Oak is the perfect material for applying woodgrain to curved, flowing surfaces. It allows you to achieve a level of precision and consistency that is essential for these kinds of forms, while also introducing a completely new sensory dimension to the object.”
