From an old Flemish 'hook-a-duck' stall to the international award winning Trendshooter

An old fairground stall winning the Oscars of the design world? Sounds like something out of a fairy tale! Unilin Panels and King George were joint winners of the prestigious Red Dot 'best of the best' award for the Trendshooter in Berlin. The hydrid one-stop-shop for product presentation was singled it out for this international design award due to its the futuristic concept.
1 Decorative Range in 6 trends
Traditional trade fairs had to be put on hold during the pandemic. To stay creative in the way we present the new Decorative Range to (potential) customers, we had to embrace hybrid and smaller-scale initiatives. Enter: the Trendshooter, a mobile fairground stall designed by King George. Where prizes and toys were previously arrayed for the punters, the full Decorative Range from Unilin Panels is now presented in six trend clusters or moods. Do you hit the mark? Then you activate one of the 6 trends accompanied by a light and music show. A playful way to discover Unilin Panels and the product range.
An exhibition stand with an infinite number of targets
What makes the Trendshooter so unique? Simply by the fact that it represents a hybrid way of working. In the same way the fair would move from village to village in times past, this product presentation on wheels can travel from customer to customer. Add to that the interactivity, the unique ambience and setting, and you've created a whole experience before you know it.
Since first hitting the road, the Trendshooter has crossed the Alps where it made an appearance at the Salone Del Mobile in Milan. But that's not all. The Trendshooter has been seen in many parts of France and Belgium too.
About the Red Dot Awards
The German Red Dot Awards, with more than 60 years of history behind them, are considered to be one of the most important international awards for businesses in the design sector. Top design – and quality: that's what marks out this prestigious award. The prizes come in three sub-categories, underlining the diversity of the sector: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design and Design Concept. All three prizes are handed out annually.
