HPL en melamine from Unilin Panels in Odido offices

Surprising glow-up in telecoms land: Odido goes for a blend of warm and robust

The rebranding of 2023? For that we have to look to the Netherlands, where the head office and nearly 120 stores of telecoms giant T-Mobile The Netherlands were revamped into Odido over the course of a single weekend. Design agency DAY Creative took up the challenge to fit the retail branches and offices with a brand-new design concept that reflects the human touch of the new brand identity.

The designers quickly settled on HPL and melamine of Belgian manufacture. Our extensive decorative range offered myriad possibilities for a sleek interior with soft and warm hues. The choice fell on designs full of character such as Fondant and Elegant Black for, among others, the display furniture and Silicon for the walls.

According to Kim Fuchs, spatial and graphic designer at DAY Creative, sustainability was the deciding factor in choosing our materials: ‘We were very impressed that you use exclusively reclaimed wood and that the particle boards are even 95% recycled wood. It is also an asset that that story does not end if the materials are ever replaced: Odido can let them live on as raw material for new board material through Unilin's Recover programme.’

In a sector where a lot of people pass by, the scratch resistance of HPL and melamine is of course also a must: ‘Odido's demo units and therefore also its counters are used intensively. Handy if that doesn't leave a mark.’
