A cosy home in L'Heureux Séjour with Unilin HPL for the interior decor
The L'Heureux Séjour care home in Sprimont provides senior citizens with a cosy home in a green environment. For the newly finished wing, HPL was chosen for the kitchenettes in the assisted living units, the furniture in all the living areas, the risers in the corridors, and ... even the doors!
"Walkers or rollators can collide with the doors or rub against the risers. With many materials, this immediately leads to serious damage and the doors have to be repainted on an ongoing basis. Due to the shock absorbency and higher impact resistance of HPL, the material is the perfect solution for a care home! It’s also easy to clean and available from Unilin in a range of beautiful colours and textures," explains Siel Boudewyn, project manager at Aldea Construct.

L'Heureux Séjour attaches great importance to a warm and homely feeling so that the residents feel at home. The choice therefore came down to a combination of Oatmeal Beige for the cabinets, sliding doors, bathroom and other furniture, and Mokka for the entrance doors to the rooms. The paintwork was also re-done to match this scheme. Unilin Master Oak natural was also used for the reception desk and bar. "A look that is as authentic as possible is extremely important to us. We and our residents are therefore very satisfied with the result. We will definitely consider HPL again for our future projects!"
