Unilin Panels innovates with sustainable MDF: Fibralux Biobased. This is the first MDF board on the market with 100% recovered wood and plant-based glue. This bio-glue is the principal game changer! It is made from locally grown renewable raw materials: sunflowers and rapeseed plants. The adhesive is also locally produced, reducing the overall CO2 emissions of the production process with 80%. Fibralux Biobased doesn’t diminish the limitless applications and the well-known ease of use of traditional MDF in the slightest.
Fibralux Biobased not only makes a difference for the environment, but also for those who live or work in a space containing Fibralux Biobased. This is because the biobased MDF board is made with plant-based adhesive, meaning no additional formaldehyde is added. As a result, Fibralux Biobased emits 10 times less formaldehyde than the EU limit.
