Public Psychiatric Hospital (OPZ)

For the renovation of an old wing of the Public Psychiatric Care Centre in Geel, Belgium, interior carpenter Herman Leyten was looking for a flexible and cost-efficient way of creating extra space. The project requirements represented a major challenge. As Herman Leyten explains, “hospitals and care facilities place high demands on fire safety. But it was also important for the interior wall design to go with the colour of the furnishings. Details like that are what make a care facility a more pleasant place to stay”.
