UniMDF Fire Air
Definition
UniMDF Fire Air is a wood fibreboard with lower density that passively inhibits the spread of fire. In case of fire, the properties of this board enable calmer and safer evacuation. This can save lives.
Description
UniMDF Fire Air is made from conifers which give it its typical light, stable wood colour. UniMDF Fire Air is 20% lighter than the UniMDF Fire Comfort but has the same impressive fire-retardant properties, thanks to the fibres being impregnated with fire-retardants. The board is available coloured in red or in natural MDF colour, depending on the desired size. UniMDF Fire Air is made of wood from sustainably managed forests of non-controversial origin.
Properties
High fire-resistance (Euro Class B-s2, d0)
Low density
Homogeneously sealed surface
Low formaldehyde content (E1)
High sanding quality
Applications
UniMDF Fire Air has a lower density but comes with the same fire-retardant qualities as UniMDF Fire Comfort. The lower weight makes for added convenience and additional benefits. After all, this board provides for shorter processing times and extended tool life. Which is why UniMDF Fire Air is often used in acoustic ceiling and wall systems for public spaces that require extra fire safety.

UniMDF Fire Air can be supplied with or without the addition of red dye. The red dye is only to identify the product and has no effect on the quality of the board. Non-coloured boards have the same natural wood colour as other UniMDF products.
